This course is the Crossover Certification Course required for employment as a Lifeguard at Georgia Tech. If your certification* is current in either American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguarding then this is the course you take for employment. In addition to Lifeguard training, this course also includes CPR and First Aid. Intermediate swimming skills are necessary. Ellis and Associates, Inc. is an international aquatic risk management service. Bring swimsuit and towel to every class.
Course Prerequisite: Participants must be able to swim 100 yards, tread water without the use of your arms for 1 minute and retrieve a ten (10) pound brick from the depth of seven (8) feet. Plus additional skills that should already be learned: CPR, Rescue Breathing, Obstructed Airway – Infant, Child, Adult; Spinal injury management; Active victim rescue; Passive victim rescue
*Bring original certification cards to first night of class, skills will be checked first night of class to determine if full course is needed.
