| How to Sign Up |
- All you need to do is come down to the Wilderness Outpost (during operating hours), fill out the necessary forms and pay.
- Tips:
- Sign ups are "first come, first served"
- Space for trips is limited, so come early and pay for a spot.
- You can not "reserve" as spot until you pay for the program.
- Program fees are not refundable, so come to sign up prepared to make the commitment to go on the trip!
- If you are under 18, you must have parents sign the forms and send the originals to ORGT before the trip, so come early to get the forms.

| Intro to WW Kayak & Canoe - 2 options-2nd option 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM It is hot outside, come hit the water with us! Join us to learn how to stay upright in your kayak, exit the kayak safely, and maneuver your boat. This is an entry level class and designed to help you decide is you would like to learn to kayak. *Must be a strong swimmer. Will be asked to demonstrate swimming proficiency. **Must participate in this course before going to ORGT to sign up for the Beginner and Intermediate Trips. **Mandatory Pre-Trip Class (6-7:30pm) and roll school session to follow;expect to here until 9:30 or 10pm. **Bring a swimsuit and towel. Join us for a fun filled day on the Ocoee River. This is a staple river in southeastern whitewater, being one of the top 5 rafted rivers in America. If you have ever wanted to learn how to be an awesome raft guide, but not sure if you will like it. Take this great opportunity for an exciting ride down the Ocoee with some professional raft guides, and you can meet fellow adventure seeking Tech students along the way. If you like it ORGT offers a guide school in which you can enroll each spring. *Pre-req. good swimming ability in whitewater. | Kayak Touring Beginner Trip 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Want to take it easy on the water this fall, and learn something new ? We want to get you outside to enjoy the day. Come take a break and enjoy a nice day learning to sea kayak! Kayak Touring is a growing and popular sport among many in the outdoor community. We will teach you basic boat design, how to enter and exit a boat safely, how to fit a boat, basic strokes, and generally help you get comfortable on flat water. No experience is necessary, but we want you to join us and meet new friends if you DO have paddling experience too! | Beginner/Intermediate Kayak Touring Lake Overnight 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM What better way to spend a fall weekend then paddling your way to a comfortable campsite and camping under the stars? Kayak Touring is a growing and popular sport among many in the outdoor community. In this class we will build on the skills we taught in the KT Beginner Class, and hone stroke skills, teach how to plan and pack for an overnight adventure, Leave No Trace principles, and more. | ?Ramblin Overnight in the Southeast? Class 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Do you want to meet new people and get outside this fall. Come hit the trail with ORGT! This is an introductory course that teaches the basics of backpacking. Topics -how to chose clothing and gear -how to prepare quick and easy meals -packing your pack -the importance of trail etiquette -much more ... -Some of these topics are taught in the classroom before a trip and some are taught on the trail.. Prerequisites No previous backpacking experience is needed. This is good chance for beginners to get introduced to backpacking. Everyone will have the opportunity to meet new people to hike with and become introduced to ORGT backpacking. This is the prerequisite for the Intermediate Day School. | Trail Adventures Southeast Day Hike Class 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Hey, let us take your hiking experience to the next level! Description: This is an intermediate hike, so be prepared physically and mentally to hike a longer and more rigorous trail, moderate to advanced in terms of elevation gain. The school consists of one classroom / logistics meeting and a day trip. Cost includes: Equipment, instruction, and ORGT transportation Cost does not include: Food on trips What to Bring: Generally, you will be responsible for keeping yourself warm (or cool), dry, fed and hydrated. If you have been wanting to get outside and challenge yourself on the trail, this one is for you! Description: This is an intermediate level overnight backpacking experience, so be prepared physically and mentally to hike moderate to advanced difficulty. You should have some hiking experience to consider this trip. The course will provide you with the basic information on how to properly prepare for an overnight backpacking trip, including: gear, proper clothing, packing, meals, and how to prepare for changing weather conditions. | "Hold Tight" Intermediate Climbing Anchors Class 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM If you like climbing, join us to learn more about Top Rope Anchors. The Anchors class follows the Beg. School in the progression. | Advanced "Trad" Climbing 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Take your climbing intermediate skills to the next level. This course will teach you the basics of lead climbing using cams, nuts, etc...for protection. Clipping into anchors as you climb up a rock face is known as lead climbing. A variation of that is called "trad" climbing whereby you set removable anchors. We will introduce you to these skills usng mock leading and giving you practice placing protection. This class is mandatory for all those wanting to take the "Trad" Trip on 10/25. | Intermediate/Advanced "Single Track Challenge" Mountain Biking 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Description: We will be teaching more advanced biking skills in this class, so come if you want to learn and come if you want to ride. *Bring your friends and sign up at the Wilderness Outpost, M-Th: 2-7pm and Friday 2-5pm. | "Ride the Wave" Women in the Wilderness Rafting and Camping Class/Trip 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Come join us for an "all -women" adventure, sponsored by Outdoor Recreation Georgia Tech (ORGT) and the Women's Resource Center. If hanging out with a bunch of like minded Georgia Tech women, having fun, roasting marshmellows, camping and rafting a class IV river sound fun? If so, this trip is for you! Join us at this mandatory class session to learn about trip logistics, proper clothing, and to ask any questions you may have. Although good swimming skills are essential, NO rafting or camping experience is required. We will teach you everything you need to know. Our plan is to leave Friday night after classes and return Saturday after dinner. | Women's Rock Climbing Night at the Wall 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. The Women's Resource Center and Outdoor Recreation Georgia Tech (ORGT) are teaming up to offer you an evening at the CRC Climbing Wall. Come join us for this "all women's" program. We will provide everything you need including, gear and instruction, just bring yourself (and a friend if you would like). We will be teaching in a supportive, non-competitive environment. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. *Pay UPSTAIRS at the CRC front desk "membership services", then bring the receipt to the wall. You should pay with credit card or Buzz.
