Rafting & Camping Overnight Adventure

  • Come join us for an "all-women" adventure!  If hanging out with a bunch of like-minded Georgia Tech women, having fun, roasting marshmallows, camping, and rafting a class IV river sound like fun, then this trip is for you!  Join us for this fun filled adventure!

    At the class session, we will teach you about trip logistics, proper clothing, and answer any questions you may have.  Although good swimming skills in fast moving white water are essential, NO rafting or camping experience is required.  We will teach you everything about camping and rafting that you need to know.

    This trip is sponsored by Outdoor Recreation Georgia Tech (ORGT) and the Women's Resource Center.  There is a 2 day-out sign up deadline and sign-ups are first come, first served.

    What is included:camping gear, transportation, breakfast, and rafting experience

Women in the Wilderness -Flatwater Canoe and Camping Class


  • 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Come check out the stars and learn to canoe with other women at Georgia Tech!

    The Women's Resource Center and Outdoor Recreation Georgia Tech (ORGT) are teaming up to offer you an evening at the CRC Climbing Wall. Come join us for this "all women" program. We will provide everything you need including, gear and instruction, just bring yourself and your friends. We will be teaching in a supportive, non-competitive environment. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. You'll want to bring a credit card or buzzcard and pay upstairs at the CRC front desk "membership services", and then bring the receipt to the wall. Note: They do not take cash.

    We'll leave early Saturday morning for a flat water canoe and camping adventure and return Sunday evening. We are looking into locations at this point, but are considering driving up to North Carolina .

    You only need bring yourself and appropriate clothing, which we will go over in the pre-trip class. Equipment, transportation and food are included in the cost of this program.

    We provide a learning environment that is supportive and non-competitive.

    Women in the Wilderness is a collaborative program with Women's Resource Center.

    This class is prereq to the trip.
