The Sport Club program is designed to provide a competitve sport environment led and organized by students. This format allows students to grow in leadership development as they learn to lead and delegate responsibility in order to successfully operate their club. Running a sport club is no easy task and takes committment and enthusiasm. The Sport Club Office is a resource for the clubs to help them in leadership development and to support club leaders in their tasks. Below you will find the steps to begin your own sport club.
The Sport Club Office works with the Student Organizations Office in chartering Sport Clubs. As the leader of your club you are responsible for turning in appropriate information to both offices, however the Sport Club Office will assist club officers in collecting information for the Student Organizations Office.
Becoming a sport club allows your club to receive a budget which is distributed by SGA. Your club also has access to the Sport Club Resource Center (SCRC), which is housed in the Campus Recreation Center. The SCRC provides many resources for the clubs through a work room with computers, a copier, and printer, as well as reserving space with the CRC for sport club practices and events.
